Nico Jordaan is the managing director of Blake Bester & Jordaan Inc. and has been practising as a commercial attorney, notary and conveyancer at the practice since 1991. Nico is the head of the practice’s Real Estate Department specialising in all aspects of property law with a specialist focus on commercial property transactions, town-planning and municipal law. Nico has over 30 years of property law experience in all areas of property law, conveyancing and notarial practice advising clients on property structures and specialised aspects of residential and commercial property transactions.

Nico has been involved in many major property transactions and his experience encompasses developments such as township proclamations, land use applications, environmental applications, sectional title and share-block schemes, housing schemes for retired persons and housing schemes funded by the Social Housing Regulatory Authority. His experience further includes conducting due diligence investigations and assisting clients on local authority legislation and dealing with local authorities on land use issues.

Nico has also a keen interest in education law and advises various private schools and educational institutions on all aspects of education law. Nico has also acted for a major international educational institution in the establishment of a private university in South Africa. Nico is also a notary public and assist clients and members of the public to prepare and verify the authenticity of legal documents, as well as provide assistance to clients by executing agreements such as anti-nuptial contracts, notarial bonds and servitude agreements.

Nico has served as a Commissioner of the Small Claims Court for several years and serves on the board of trustees of various community schemes.
